See what our guests have to say about their stay at Pen Bryn Twrw! Having only opened Pen Bryn Twrw as a holiday let in May 2021, we are over-whelmed with the amazing response from our guests. All rental is donated to the care of the animals at the Sanctuary. As a registered charity, Idlewild Animal Sanctuary opened Pen Bryn Twrw as a holiday rental to raise much needed funds to care for the animals at the sanctuary. With over 153 rescue animals at the Sanctuary we really need donations.

"Just a note to say thanks so much for our stay, we have loved every minute! The cottage is just perfect and the staff and volunteers at the sanctuary were all very helpful and friendly! It's clear they were all so passionate and loved being at the Sanctuary! We are very much in love with Honey and loved meeting little Bee, all the animals are clearly well loved and looked after!."

"We had a great stay at the sanctuary. Kim and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a show around the animal sanctuary and got to meet all the animals, most of whom were very friendly and curious. The cottage was clean , cozy and has breathtaking views from front facing windows. Would definitely love to return."

"Spent a week here and absolutely loved it. The cottage is lovely, well equipped kitchen, modern bathrooms, really comfy beds and stunning views but best of all it is in the middle of the sanctuary. It was just wonderful to spend time with all the animals, we fell in love with them all. The staff were great, letting us help out at feeding time and giving us lots of background information on their animals. It is such a peaceful place, a real breath of fresh air in these crazy times!"

"A magical place to stay, surrounded by lovely Welsh scenery and with so many lovely places to visit on your doorstep but also feeling of 'getting away from it all'! The animals were real characters and we were fortunate to be staying when the open day was on so learnt lots about the animals and each of their stories. My personal favourite was Stanley the sheep, what a dude! Credit to the dedication of the staff and volunteers creating such a lovely place for these animals to live. We took our 2 dogs and found lots of lovely places to walk and would recommend Sychnant pass and Bodnant Gardens. We feel suitably refreshed and relaxed after our stay! Thank you."

"We absolutely loved our stay! Will most definitely be coming again. The cottage was lovely, clean and recently renovated to a high standard. Lovely cosy beds, and the view is incredible! Had everything we needed for a brilliant few days. The location was great, close to so many lovely places to visit! The hill up is a little tight but it’s brilliant being up in the middle of nowhere so worth it. Being amongst so many beautiful animals was an absolute privilege. We loved being able to get to know them all and have a few cuddles. The kids thought it was amazing and we had a few tears saying goodbye. Kim and Ryan and all the volunteers there do a wonderful job for the animals, and couldn’t have done more for us during our stay; so helpful, kind and considerate. Thank you so much for everything! Just to mention it’s worth taking some slippers or thick socks as the tiled floor is cold underfoot; and prepare to fall in love with a couple of cows and a seagull named oddball".

"A stunning cottage full of character and charm in a fabulous location near enough to enjoy Conway and Snowdonia national park but quiet enough to feel “off grid”. The animal sanctuary and it’s helpful staff was a real added bonus, we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it!."
"Amazing stay at Pen Bryn Twrw! Lovely touches provided for our stay. The location was perfect, so much to explore nearby. My children were able to feed the animals and learn about them. We had a nice tour of the sanctuary. Kim was always on hand for anything we needed, including local area tips. We will definitely stay again!"

"It’s a wonderful cottage and brilliantly located to explore Snowdonia (especially the surf lagoon) but the animal sanctuary staff/volunteers are what made it incredible - seeing their passion for the animals and being able to get up close feeding them was unforgettable for all the family".

This is a lovely property set in a beautiful location. It's very modern inside but has retained its character for a cosy stay. You're on an animal sanctuary and the money you pay goes to keeping it going, plus you get to see all the animals. Great for a group and could also see this being quite a special place for couples".

"We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here this weekend. The place is in the most beautiful location with some awesome views. The cottage is so beautifully decorated and well kitted out. The animals were also so, so nice to see and we visited them numerous times. The pigs are adorable. Great location up a steep hill but worth the drive for the peace and quiet Great stock of games too including cluedo and scrabble. We will visit again" x.
